      Our Services

      Removal

To include the removal of any tree at any location. (Large hazardous trees are our specialty)

      Pruning

To include the required trimming of any tree for health and safety of the tree as well as requested trimming. Pruning your trees every 3 to 5 years, or as needed, encourages healthy tree growth.

      Thinning

This pruning process allows for better wind penetration of your trees which makes them less susceptible to wind damage. In addition, a well thinned tree promotes more vigorous upper canopy growth.

      Deadwood Removal

This vital process of removing dead limbs in your tree’s canopy can prevent injury to persons or damage to property. Having the deadwood removed from your tree’s will also add to the trees aesthetic value and the trees overall health.

      Cabling/Bolting

Sometimes cabling or bolting is necessary in order to increase the life span and safety factor of a tree. Although not all trees meet specific criteria in regards to cabling and bolting, whenever possible it is a practice we employ to save a tree rather than cut it down.

      Crown Reduction

Crown reduction is the process that we use to reduce the overall height of a tree. NOT ALL TREES CAN BE REDUCED THROUGH THIS PROCESS! “Topping” trees is sometimes confused with crown reduction. However, Crown reduction is an accepted practice where all cuts are made at specific junctions and the limbs are specific sizes. “Topping” is simply “flattening” the top of a tree at a determined height.

      Crane Service

In the business of tree care and removal, it sometimes becomes necessary to use a crane to assist in the removal of a tree. As we own our own crane, we are able to do crane removals at a much more competitive price with flexibility and ease of scheduling.

      Deep Root Fertilization

Deep root fertilization is the practice of introducing beneficial nutrients to the soil around your tree so that your tree can utilize them. However, we like to call it “shallow root fertilization”, as the nutrient absorbing roots of your tree are not “deep” in the ground. They are actually closer to the surface. Fertilization of your trees is beneficial if done properly and at the right time of the year.

      Stump Removal

Adirondack will provide a separate price to grind stumps on all trees that we remove to include pre-existing stumps that you may request to be ground. On stumps that may be in the way of underground utilities, we call Miss Utility to have them marked so that we will avoid contact with them.

Sometimes, when stump grinding, a phone line or cable line to a residence may be damaged. These lines are required to be at a depth of 24”. We have found with newer developments, these lines are laid on top of the ground after construction with sod placed on top of them to conceal them. If such a line is damaged, the utility will repair it free of charge due to the fact that they did not bury it at the required depth to begin with. When grinding a stump or stumps, we almost always have to bring the stump removal machine onto your property as well as the truck that tows the unit (unless we are using our small gate model machine). This will sometimes leave marks on the lawn. If the lawn is too wet to bring the equipment onto for stump removal, we will suggest waiting until the conditions are optimum. Once again, we do not engage in the practice of lawn repair in an effort to keep the cost low for our customers.

After stump grinding is complete, we leave the resulting grindings in the hole of the original stump. If you wish to have the grindings removed, please advise us when you schedule your work so that we may make the required arrangements. Removal of grindings can be priced separately upon request. (We only grind stumps for customers who we are currently providing work for)
